The first thing that you notice once you reach the hotel, that it's huge. We stayed for two nights in deluxe rooms. The whole hotel is of 6 floors and the 6th floor is the reception area so basically u go down while reaching your room, which was a nice experience cuz the lift was situated in such a way that the view of whole valley was visible. The rooms were quite spacious and the floors were carpeted, it had a sofa and a flat screen; the bathrooms were clean, not very spacious though but it didn't matter much as it had 24 hr hot water supply. The room had attached balcony and the view of valley was clear :)

Our room was on 3rd floor. The location of the hotel is on the main road, mall road so the connectivity to the market is very close and one can go walking. The food was really good, we had all the meals in our room only. Now coming to the services, I gotta say that they get 5 star in that area, the manager Mr. Jeena and Mr. Amit along with their staff were really hospitable. And we needed to book a cab for our journey to kausani, they did so and that too at reasonable price. We went at the time of Diwali so all the taxi drivers we talked to were either booked or not willing to go, so their help was really a help for us. So all in all we had an amazing stay at the hotel, and would love to stay at the hotel in near future.

We have recently visited and almora and have stayed in this hotel for a day. The hotel had mediocre reviews in websites but it was the biggest and best hotel in around there. The rooms were very much spacious and we'll ventilated. Had all the required facilities at reach with 24 hour hot water supply as well. The area of the hotel is pretty big and wide open space. The open space offers clear and beautiful views of the surrounding hills and the sunrise as well. The quality and taste of the food served was really good. The service was swift and prompt. The hotel was bit old but was well maintained. The reception area was quite big considering the commercial aspect of hotels these days. It had good number of quality magazines to read. The cleanliness of the hotel is impressive and offers one of the best points to choose the hotel without any hesitation. Though the hotel is located in a prime area of the city, the parking space was sufficient and there is a multilevel car parking near the hotel as well. The beauty of the hotel is that the ground floor had the reception and all the six floors of the hotel having rooms are located below that and is open to the mountain view at the other side. If are visiting almora or nearby places, one can choose this hotel eyes closed.

We visited Almora on our way to Binsar/Chakouri/Munsiyari. We stayed at Hotel Shikhar at Almora. We were 3 adults and a child. Shikhar gave us not only a very welcome reception but a room that could accommodate more than the 4 of us. Yet there was space left for the sofa-set, the centre table, et al. The balcony attached to the room was not only large but gave us splendid views of the valley and the mountains beyond. And this was only their Standard Room at very nominal rates. Staff were at their courteous best, very helpful and willing to serve with a smile. Hospitality was excellent. Did not try their restaurant, though. No time with the family wanting to make the best use of the limited time we had to go around town. Location is a value add, being bang in the middle of the town, yet rooms are so located as to shield you totally from the hustle & bustle of the town.

I loved my stay in Hotel Shikhar, Almora. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The view of the hills from my room was good. The food in the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced. If you are a foodie you must try out the local dishes also. The Hotel prepared it with three hours prior notice. The Room Service was good, but the House keeping Staff , though very courteous, need to be trained better.

This is the finest hotel in Almora & its location is superb along with its restaurant,rooms& services.Allover,its a great experience to stay here.Do stay here and enjoy the view and services.Rates are reasonable as well.
